Description

We are looking for a passionate, motivated, high-performing DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering team in Montreal. As DevOps engineer you will be working closely with our product development teams to support them in deploying and managing the platform for our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with product development teams to design and enhance the services.
  • Provision, monitor and operate cloud services in a globally distributed team, in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Analyze and solve operational issues, and respond to incidents.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement continuous improvements.
  • Create and improve automation for testing, deployment, scalability, management, and visibility of our services.

Requirements 
  • Experience working as DevOps, Developer or Systems Administrator working with Linux environments. 
  • Good understanding of networking and infrastructure setup in a web hosting/delivery environment. 
  • Knowledge of and experience with source control systems such as GIT or Subversion.
  • Expertise in Automation frameworks, such as Terraform, Ansible or Chef.
  • Expertise with one or many major cloud service providers: AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • Comfortable configuring and supporting Linux based servers and applications.
  • Proficient with build pipeline, build automation and can implement Continuous-Integration and Continuous-Delivery (CI/CD) solutions.
  • Not afraid of the Command Line, Bash scripting and configuring applications such as Apache, Nginx, MySQL, etc.
  • Comfortable with virtualization technologies such as Docker, VMs, function as a service, Kubernetes, etc. 
  • Critical thinker with a passion for engineering and service excellence.
  • Ability to multitask and handle various projects, deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Good communication skills and capacity/willingness to work in a multi-teams environment.
  • Strong motivation to learn, teach and grow.

Nice to have
  • Experience working with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Slack.
  • Experience with Jenkins, BitBucket, GitHub.
  • Experiences with web services, networking and internet (DNS, TCP/IP, Apache, firewalling, Load Balancing, CDN…) 
  • Experience in SQL databases and programing on them. 
  • Understanding of Agile and other development processes and methodologies.
  • Understanding of and ability to balance the pros and cons of micro-services, SOA and monolithic applications.
  • Understanding of Data Engineering infrastructure. 
  • Experience with security (ISO 27001, PCI and/or HIPAA)
  • Knowledge of monitoring processes and tools an asset.
